1. Introduction
Welcome to Little Mountain Wellness. By engaging our counselling services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are established to ensure a clear understanding of our professional relationship and to uphold the highest standards of ethical practice as outlined by the BCACC and CCPA.
2. Scope of Services
Little Mountain Wellness provides professional counselling services to individuals seeking support for various mental health concerns. Our services are delivered by qualified professionals who adhere to the ethical guidelines set forth by the BCACC and CCPA. The specific nature and goals of counselling will be collaboratively determined during initial sessions and may evolve over time based on client needs.
3. Confidentiality
Confidentiality is central to the counselling relationship at Little Mountain Wellness. Information you share in session is kept private and will not be disclosed without your written consent. Exceptions apply when there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or if we are legally required to release information. When possible, you will be informed of any such disclosure. We are committed to protecting your privacy while meeting our ethical and legal responsibilities.
4. Informed Consent
Prior to commencing counselling, clients will be provided with information regarding the nature of counselling, potential risks and benefits, confidentiality, and their rights and responsibilities. Clients are encouraged to ask questions and must provide informed consent before services begin. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, subject to legal and ethical considerations.
5. Fees and Payment
Fees for counselling services will be discussed and agreed upon prior to the commencement of services. Payment is due at the time of each session unless alternative arrangements have been made. Accepted payment methods include [insert payment methods, e.g., cash, credit card, e-transfer].
6. Cancellation Policy
We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to the full session rate. Exceptions may be made in cases of emergency or unforeseen circumstances.
7. Record Keeping
We maintain records of counselling sessions in accordance with professional standards and legal requirements. Records are securely stored and retained for a minimum of seven years following the last date of service, as mandated by the BCACC. Clients have the right to access their records upon written request, subject to applicable laws and ethical guidelines.
8. Communication
Communication outside of scheduled sessions should be limited to administrative matters such as scheduling appointments. We do not provide counselling services via email or text messages. In case of emergencies, clients should contact emergency services or crisis support lines.
9. Use of Technology
For clients participating in virtual counselling sessions, we utilize secure and encrypted platforms to protect your privacy. Clients are responsible for ensuring they have a private and secure environment for sessions. Technical issues may occasionally disrupt sessions; in such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or continue the session via alternative means.
10. Termination of Services
Clients have the right to terminate counselling services at any time. We also reserve the right to terminate services if it is determined that counselling is no longer beneficial, if there is a breach of these terms, or if ethical or legal obligations necessitate termination. In such cases, appropriate referrals will be provided.
11. Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide effective counselling services, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Clients are responsible for their own decisions and actions. Little Mountain Wellness and its counsellors shall not be held liable for any damages resulting from the use or misuse of counselling services.
12. Changes to Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions as necessary to reflect changes in laws, regulations, or our services. Clients will be notified of any significant changes, and the most current version will be available on our website.
