Message of Commitment
I’ve been fortunate to work with many people throughout my career, and I’ve come to see that each person is on their own unique path. I have witnessed both the pain that can emerge along that path and the strength that can come from expressing who we are.

My commitment is to bring warmth, steadiness, and a deep respect for your inner experience, creating a space where you feel supported in understanding yourself and working through challenges. By integrating evidence based practices with creativity and personal expression, I aim to support you in finding clarity, connection, and a path forward that feels meaningful to you.

Ian Cohen
B.Mus
Educator
Ian Cohen is an educator and performer with over 15 years of experience teaching music across elementary, secondary, and adult settings. As a teacher within Little Mountain Wellness youth programs, he focuses on the intersection of technical musical development and social emotional growth, helping students build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging through music. Ian currently teaches at Moscrop Secondary and serves as District Coordinator for the Elementary Band Program in the Burnaby School District, where he supports large scale music education initiatives and inclusive classroom environments.

Specializing in trumpet and brass instruction across a range of musical styles, Ian brings a strong foundation in both performance and pedagogy. His work is rooted in the belief that music is a powerful tool for developing resilience, emotional regulation, and self confidence. Through shared performance and creative collaboration, he supports students in discovering their unique voice while gaining skills that extend beyond music into all areas of life.

Message of Commitment
I believe that music is more than a skill. It is a way for young people to build confidence, express themselves, and feel connected to something larger than themselves. I have seen how learning music can support resilience, emotional growth, and a strong sense of belonging.

My commitment is to create a space where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to grow both musically and personally. Through music, I aim to help each student find their voice and carry that confidence with them beyond the classroom.
